You need to check out Cam Studio

Hello computer world, If you like to create short tutorials, you need to check out CamStudio.
This software is an open source screen-capture video tool. It creates short tutorials, capture
your gaming action, record your web-based activity and much much more. With the over
whelming popularity of video and video-based sharing sites like YouTube, video is definitely the
way to go when it comes to sharing information online. Camtasia Studio Is one of the most
popular screen capture recording applications, however, it costs every bit of $299. Camtasia
Studio no doubt a robust platform to record online video and includes a lot of functionality
,but not everyone can afford it at that price. Therefore, Cam Studio is a great alternative for
creating online videos, especially for those who are just venturing out on there on into the
world of online video creation. Since 2009 Cam Studio people then enjoyed using this free screen
capture software to capture on-screen video recording. Experience using Cam Studio and show
you how to effectively set it up to get the most out of this versatile video making application,
you will also see some examples of videos created using this free App.
Here is some features about the Cam Studio Pros and Cons: You can record a particular region
of your computer screen or the entire screen. They both work well, however you have to deter
mine which ones suites best depending on the type of your video recording project. With the
screen and video annotations feature in this software, you can either do voice over type videos
or owe with text annotations. You can do presentation type screen capture recording with my
voice narrations in the backround. You can record audio from the micro speakers.
You can record 1280*720HD quality video, however the quality of the output will depend on
the type of computer you use. The video output files are in AVI (Audio Video Interleaved) and
SWF (Shockwave Flash) formats. I generally save the raw in AVI format and covert it to WMV
format (using Windows Movie Make) to upload it to YouTube. You can customize the Frame
Rate ( under\Options\Video Options) , however ensure that Capture Frame Every times Play
back Rate equals 1,000 (milliseconds in order to maintain audio/video sync. Cam Studiocomes
with several Codecs ( Compressor/Decompressor) which helps to reduce the size of the video
output file. If you're going to use the application mainly to capture video game recording, I
would suggest using the Jawor's Xvid which is great for high-motion video. Other useful
features that come with Cam Studio are a variety of cursor options including various shapes,
sizes and cursor highlight. Also the auto pan feature can be useful when using Region video
recording. The auto pan feature allows the mouse to follow the area on the screen when using
the Region option. I think that is cool. Cam Studio has its limitations. One of the main limit
ations that I found in this free video making application is the lack of zooming ability.
Especially, when recording web browser based on screen, sometimes specific areas are too
small to be legible on the video recording. Being able to zoom into a particular area can be a
huge benefit. However, there is a solution to counter this zoom feature limitation by using an
add-on tool called ZoomIt. Its not as robust as the one you find in Camtasia, but it works
pretty well and does the job. The other drawback of Cam Studio is the AVI format 2GB file
size limit. If you haven't customized the settings to optimize your type of video recording, you
can end up with a huge file size even for a short video tha is 5 minutes long. I try to keep my
videos as short as possible, generally 5 to 10 minutes. If you want to record longer videos
check the FAQs section below for some potential solutions. My advice is that you take the time

to customize the video settings based on the type of on-screen video recording you use this
application for. You'll save yourself from some frustrations. Here are some FAQs links:
